Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum prolactin(PRL) and CA125 level in infertil patients with endometriosis (EMS) .Methods Serum PRL by time-resolved fluorescence assay and CA125 by radioimmunoassay were detected in 90 infertil patients before laparoscopy or laparotomy. Results (1) 68 patients were diagnosed as EMS (EMS group), 22 patients were diagnosed as chronic pelvicinflammatory disease, pelvic tubercle and parovarian cyst(control group). In EMS and control groups, the rate of serum PRL≥18.1 ng/ml were 67.6% and 18.2% respectively; CA125≥35 U/L were 27.9% and 0 respectively.(2) In theⅠ~Ⅱstage EMS patients, the sensitivity of high level PRL was significantly higher than that of CA125(72.9% and 5.4%, respectively ) (P0.01). But in the Ⅲ~Ⅳ stage EMS patients, there were no significant difference (61.3% and 54.8% respectively) (P0.05). (3) In 19 patients whose serum CA125≥35 U/L,17 were diagnosed as Ⅲ~Ⅳ stage EMS. Conclusion (1)Serum PRL assay has high reference value in the infertil patients with EMS. (2) Serum PRL assay has a significant higher sensitivity than CA125 assay in the Ⅰ~Ⅱstage EMS, however, CA125 has a high specificity only in the Ⅲ~Ⅳstage EMS.
