Abstract
Endometriosis affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age. In 67% of cases, the disease begins during adolescence. The aim of this study is to identify prognostic markers of endometriosis in adolescents with dysmenorrhea. We recruited 50 adolescent female patients with a history of dysmenorrhea for at least 6 months, with onset during the teenage years. The findings highlight the importance of a comprehensive approach to pain assessment in the diagnosis of endometriosis. Chronic pelvic pain, particularly when combined with other characteristic clinical manifestations, should be considered a significant diagnostic criterion that warrants the implementation of a targeted diagnostic algorithm to confirm or rule out endometriosis.
