Abstract

This Open Science Framework project hosts the protocol, data-charting form, PRISMA-ScR checklist, and search-strategy documentation for a scoping review of pelvic-floor physical therapy (PFPT) and broader physical-rehabilitation interventions in women with endometriosis, including deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). Objectives: To map, classify and critically appraise current evidence on PFPT in endometriosis, with a primary focus on technique categorization, dosing, clinical outcomes, integration with deep multi-organ excision surgery, and translational implications for centers of excellence. Methods: Scoping review following Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology and the PRISMA-ScR reporting extension. Structured PICo search across MEDLINE (via PubMed), Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar (1995 — May 2025). Dual independent screening with third-reviewer adjudication. Narrative synthesis and construction of a center-of-excellence treatment algorithm. Deliverables: Manuscript submitted to BMC Women's Health (Collection: Physiotherapy and women's health, 2026). Supplementary materials including PRISMA-ScR checklist and complete search-strategy logs will be deposited on this project page upon manuscript acceptance. Keywords: endometriosis; deep infiltrating endometriosis; pelvic-floor physical therapy; chronic pelvic pain; central sensitization; ENZIAN; center of excellence; scoping review.
