Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effect of Yu’s Neiyi recipe on endometriosis. Methods: Yu’s Neiyi recipe was administered in 48 patients with endometriosis (including 20 cases of associated infertility). The clinical data, sonography, basal body temperature (BBT) and hormones levels were observed before and 3 months after the treatment. The pregnancy outcome was followed up within 2 years. Results: Efficacy of Yu’s Neiyi recipe in 48 patients was 93.75% within 3 months of treatment, and the pregnancy rate was 75% in 20 infertile patients. After the treatment, scores of both dysmenorrhea and chronic pelvic pain were significantly reduced (P0.01, respectively), the size of ovarian endometrial cysts obviously decreased (P0.01), and the BBT type and high phase score also significantly improved (P0.01). During the herbal treatment, the high serum levels of PRL were significantly reduced (P 0.05), and serum levels of LH and E_2 significantly increased (P0.05).Conclusion: Yu’s Neiyi recipe not only significantly relieves the symptoms and signs of patients with endometriosis, but also shows a good regulation on patients’ovarian function to improve the pregnancy rate.
