There is an urgent need for service models that effectively utilize AI-driven tools, as these tools are becoming increasingly integrated into medical and health services. Objective: This study seeks to examine the developmental trajectory, core components, and practical effectiveness of the distinctive health service model implemented by an Internet hospital. Methods: We focus on Internet Hospital of First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University, with six parallel novel services such as AI assisted clinical decision making, refined management of specific diseases, weight management, embryo freezing, screening and intervention for cognitive function in elderly and infant hydrotherapy. Data collected from October 2024 to December 2025, including number of recipients, income and medical record citations. Results: The acceptance rate for AI-based services was very high. AI pre-consultation feature was used 43077 times (citation rate 56.2%) and AI generated medical records were used 293 times (citation rate 44.4%). Due to AI generated medical records structure, doctors spent 23.7% less time entering medical records during consultations ( P = 0.0179), improving doctor-patient communication. A total of 1,699 patients utilized these services, resulting in a service revenue of 3.64 million Chinese Yuan (RMB). Notably, weight management was the main growth driver, with 3.49 million Chinese Yuan (RMB) from 1337 services, which made 95.9% of total health service income. Furthermore, improved treatment of specific diseases supported ongoing medical services after diagnosis. In addition, embryo freezing and infant hydrotherapy service relieved patients of offline travel burdens. Conclusion: AI-enabled internet hospitals, along with their distinctive health service models, can transcend the limitations of traditional offline healthcare. They improve healthcare accessibility, enhance service quality and optimize medical process efficiency. This approach provides valuable insights for the future of internet healthcare and health management.
