Abstract

Objective:To explore the relationship between nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB),macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF) and occurrence of endometrial polyps among women of reproductive age and the correlation between NF-κB expression and MIF expression in endometrial polyps. Methods:The samples of endometrial polyps and surrounding endometrial tissue of 42 patients with endometrial polyps and normal endometrial samples of 22 patients with uterus septum were collected after hysteroscopic surgery,RT-PCR technique was used to detect the expressions of NF-κBp65 and MIF mRNA;immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expressions of NF-κBp65 and MIF protein. Results:The expression levels of NF-κBp65 and MIF mRNA in endometrial polyps were statistically significantly higher than those in surrounding endometrial tissue and normal endometrium during the same period(P0.05);compared with normal endometrium, the expression levels of NF-κBp65 and MIF mRNA in surrounding endometrial tissue increased significantly(P0.05).NF-κBp65 and MIF protein expressed in the three groups, which were the highest in endometrial polyps group, followed by surrounding endometrial tissue, there were statistically significant difference in the expression levels of NF-κBp65 and MIF protein among the three groups(P0.05).There was a positive correlation between NF-κBp65 expression and MIF mRNA expression in endometrial polyps(γ=0.694,P0.05),and NF-κBp65 was positively correlated with MIF protein in endometrial polyps(γ=0.37,P0.05).Conclusion:NF-κB and MIF may be correlated with pathogenesis of endometrial polyps in women of reproductive age, which play synergistic roles in pathological change of occurrence and development of endometrial polyps.
