Extrapelvic Tubal Pregnancy with Contralateral Corpus Luteum in a Patient with a Unicornuate Uterus

A woman with a unicornuate uterus subclass B and contralateral adnexa located above the pelvic brim was treated with controlled superovulation for primary infertility. She conceived, but following transperitoneal migration of the spermatozoa and oocyte, the pregnancy implanted in the rudimentary tube contralateral to the hemiuterus, with corpus luteum on the eutopic ovary. Laparoscopic salpingectomy was performed. Removal of the rudimentary tube in a woman with unicornuate uterus should be considered if laparoscopy is performed for diagnosis, to avoid the risk of ectopic pregnancy. (J GYNECOL SURG 12:53, 1996)
