This study found significantly higher survivin expression and microvessel density in ectopic endometrial tissue of adenomyosis patients compared to normal or eutopic tissues, suggesting that survivin overexpression contributes to adenomyosis pathogenesis through apoptosis inhibition and angiogenesis.
