Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of endometriosis in abdominal scars. Methods 10 cases of endometriosis in abdominal scars were retrospectively analysed during 1995 and January 2005. Results 8 cases occurred after cesarean section, 2 cases occurred after enucleation of ovarian chocolate cyst. All had masses in abdominal scars with cyclic pain associated with mense or tenderness. Surgery is the main management. Conclusions To protect the incision during surgery, increase the operative skills and to cut down the rate of cesarean may help to decrease the occurrence of endometriosis in abdominal scars.
