Abstract

Background: A 40-year-old Caucasian woman was referred to the hospital because of chronic pelvic pain, major dyspareunia and rectal tenesmus. On clinical examination, the vaginal touch was painful. Personal history revealed right salpingectomy for extra-uterine pregnancy 19 years ago, two medical abortions 4 and 10 years ago, surgical excision for endometriotic cyst by celioscopy one year ago, and hysterectomy with right ovariectomy 8 months earlier for appendicitis and adenomyosis. Patient also underwent surgery for breast cancer, associated with adjuvant radiotherapy and hormonotherapy.
