Abstract
Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine System (LNG-IUS) is a safe and highly efficient intrauterine device(IUD).Many newapplications in non-contraceptive fields have been developed through its non-systemic administration of progestogen by daily releasing lowdose of LNG into uterine cavity.This article reviews its applications in the treatment of menorrhagia,endometriosis and adenomyosis as well as the endometria protection during hormone replacement therapy(HRT).
