Assistência de enfermagem às pacientes portadoras de endometriose

Nursing care for patients with endometriosis DOI: https://doi.org/10.6008/CBPC2674-6506.2021.002.0004%20Keywords: Endometriosis, Risk factors, Nursing Diagnosis, Nursing CareAbstract Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, which generates chronic inflammation, usually reaching the peritoneal surface, ovaries and rectovaginal septum and, less frequently, the Central Nervous System, pleura and pericardium. The article aims to review the literature in an integrative way which are the factors that lead to the development of endometriosis. Method: This study is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative approach, of articles published in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) from 2011 to 2021. Results: 9 articles were selected for the preparation of this work. The risk factors identified were: age, socioeconomic status, marital status, menstrual factors, age at menarche, duration and interval of the menstrual cycle, and pregnancy. Nursing diagnoses were rarely mentioned, however, publications listed the necessary conducts of professional nurses when faced with a woman with endometriosis, such as providing health promotion and prevention to these patients, giving greater attention to psychological health and promote an improvement in signs and symptoms. Final considerations: it is extremely important that nursing professionals feel the need and interest in carrying out training and courses, so that they can expand their knowledge about endometriosis, obtaining sufficient knowledge to provide comprehensive care to these patients, sharing about possible causes, treatments and prevention, solving their doubts, holding educational lectures at health units, improving interpersonal contact and welcoming them so that they feel safe and informed.
