Abstract
Aim: To investigate the expression of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)in the pathogenesis of endometriosis(EMs).Methods:Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the cxpression of TNF-α and MMP-2 in ectopic endometrium from 39 patients with EMs and the endometrium of 40 controls.Results: TNF-α and MMP-2 mainly expressed in plasma of glandular cell. The expressions of TNF-α and MMP-2 were significantly higher in patients with EMs than those in normal control (P0.05).Conclusion: The overexpression of TNF-α and MMP-2 may play an important role in the progress of EMs.
