Influence of Bruceolic Oil Emulsion on COX-2 in Rat with Endometriosis

To explore the effect mechanism of bruceolic oil emulsion(BOE) on expressions of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) in rats with endometriosis.The Wistar rat model of endometriosis was established by surgical implant of endometrial tissue which belonged to its body.The changes of endometriotic cyst were observed after treatment by intraperitoneal injection.And then COX-2 expression in endometriotic tissue was measured by immunohistochemistry and western blotting respectively.The results showed that endometriotic cyst was significantly reduced or disappeared by BOE and there was a decrease in the expression of COX-2.In conclusion,the mechanism of BOE for endometriosis in rats may be related to the decrease of COX-2 expression in endometrium,inhibition of angiogenesis,and promoting apoptosis.
