Clinical analysis of 322 cases endometrioma

Abstract
Objective:To explore the aetiology and the clinical characteristics of endometrioma so as to improve the accuracy of clinical diagnosis.Methods:The clinical informations of 322 cases endometrioma confirmed by pathologic diagnosis in our hospital from October 2000 to April 2006 were analyzed retrospectively.Results:The majority of patients were 30 to 50 years of the multiparous women.The most common symptoms and signs were hypermenorrhea or bradymenorrhea and polymenorrhea.Dysmenorrhea was more prominent in endometrioma,the imaging of B-ultrasonography was characteristics.The level of serum CA 125 rose evidently,the positive rate was 78.57%.Conclusion:The disease should be associated with endocrine disorders,stimulation by high level of estrogen and intrauterine opertion and chronic cervicitis.It is critical to be fully aware of the characteristics of this disease,diagnosis should be made based on combination with history,pelvic cavity examination,the imaging of B-ultrasonography and the level of serum CA 125.
