Abstract
To study the risk factors of ectopic pregnancy after receiving assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment. The clinical data, including maternal age, infertility years, body mass index, types for infertility, endometriosis, tubal problems, fertility methods, male factors and number of embryo transferred, of 9,732 patients with clinical pregnancies via ART treatment were collected from Jan 2018 to Dec 2018 in the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CITIC, Xiangya. The potential risk factors of ectopic pregnancy (EP) were investigated by univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. This cohort included 9,732 patients and 173 patients of them accompanied with EPs. The EP rate was 1.8%. The univariate analysis showed that maternal age, tubal factor and number of embryo transferred were higher in EP group than those in non-EP group (p < 0.05) and insemination were different in EP group than those in non-EP group (p < 0.1). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that tubal factor (OR = 2.030, 95%CI 1.090–3.782, P = 0.026), maternal age (OR = 1.043, 95%CI 1.008–1.079, P = 0.016) and number of embryo transferred (OR = 0.590, 95%CI 0.396–0.878, P = 0.009) were independent risk factors of EP. The greater maternal age, greater number of embryo transferred and tubal problems increased the EP rate.
