Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treament of endometriosis(EM) in the special areas. Methods Data of 32 patients with EM were retrospectively analyzed,of whom EM lesions located in the abdominal wall in 29 cases and in the rectovaginal septum in 3 cases.ResultsSerum CA125 level was not significantly increased in 29 cases with abdominal wall EM,of whom 26 patients complained of menstruation-related cyclical strain with growing tenderness nodules.Three EM cases with the lesions at the rectovaginal septum had the symptoms of menstruation-related periodic strain, severe dysmenorrhea and deep dyspareunia,of whom the EM nodules were palpable by vaginal and rectal examination and increased CA125 was detected in 2 cases.Surgical resection of EM lesions was performed in all 29 cases and EM was diagnosed pathologically. Conclusion EM in the special areas can be diagnosed by tipical clinical symptoms, physical examination and ultrasonography.Surgery is effective in the treatment of EM in the special areas.
