Effect of Kanghu Antiphlogistic Suppository plus Enema and Microwave Physical Therapy for Patients with Chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effects of the traditional Chinese medicine Kangfu Antiphlogistic Suppocitory plus enema and microwave therapy in patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and to observe the pregnancy rate of the patients after the combining treatment.METHODS: 160 patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease(of whom,101 complicated with barrenness) were randomly assigned to 3 groups: Group A(Kangfu Antiphlogistic Suppocitory plus retention enema enema),Group B(Kangfu Antiphlogistic Suppocitory plus microwave physical therapy),and Group C(Kangfu Antiphlogistic Suppocitory plus enema and microwave physical therapy).The barren cases were given an injection into uterus fallopian tube after the relief of their symptom.RESULTS: Both the effective rate and the cure rate were significantly higher in Group C than in other two groups,showing significant differences(P0.05).There was also significant difference between Group A and Group B in the pregnancy rate after treatment(P0.01).CONCLUSION: The combined therapy of traditional Chinese and western medicine (Kangfu Antiphlogistic Suppocitory plus enema and microwave therapy) is effective for chronic pelvic inflammatory disease for it can improve both the cure rate and the pregnancy rate after the treatment.Thus it is worth the clinical practice.
