Abstract

Objective To explore the value of CA125 combined with endometrial polyp in the diagnosis of early endometriosis. Methods The data of 1 049 cases of reason-unknown infertility diagnosed and treated at Foshan First People's Hospital from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2015. were retrospectively analyzed. Results The raise of serum CA125 had a sensitivity of 77.69% to the prediction of early endometriosis, and a specificity of 31.45%. Endometrial polyp had a sensitivity of 84.21% to the prediction of early endometriosis, and a specificity of 33.84%. CA125 and endometrial polyp together had a joint sensitivity of 93.27% to the prediction of early endometriosis, and a specificity of 31.75%. By comparing serum CA125(positive) to CA125(positive) and endometrial polyp, we realized that both of them were predictive indexes for diagnosing early endometriosis, with a statistical difference (P=0.004). Conclusion Serum CA125 combined with endometrial polyp are predictive indexes, with a high sensitivity and a low specificity, for diagnosing early endometriosis. If an infertile patient is positive in both indexes, the probability of early endometriosis should be seriously taken into account, and the indication of laparoscopic exploration can be relaxed appropriately. Key words: CA125; Endometrial polyp; Early endometriosis.
