Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the expression of COX-2 in endometrium and muscle layer of adenomyosis patients, approach its significance.[Methods] 64 patients excised uteruses were enrolled,34 adenomyosis patients were in study group and 30 uterus myoma patients were in control group.Immunohistochemistry was used to mensurate COX-2 expression in endometrium and uterus muscle layer of two groups.[Results] In proliferative phase and secretive phase, the expression rate of COX-2 in both ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium in study group were higher than those in control group, the rate in ectopic endometrium was higher than that in eutopic endometrium(P0.01);the expression rate of COX-2 in muscle layer group around adenomyosis focus was 76.47%,and the expression of COX-2 in normal muscle layer of uterus was negative. The histology score of the expression of COX-2 in ectopic endometrium of proliferative phase was 8.71±1.43,and the score of secretive phase was 9.30±1.22;the score in eutopic endometrium of proliferative phase was 4.55±0.92,and the score of secretive phase was 4.84±1.16.The differences between the two groups were significant(P0.01).[Conclusions] There is a high expression of COX-2 in adenomyosis ectopic endometrium, eutopic endometrium and muscle layer around focus,it may be concerned with the genesis and development of adenomyosis.
