La mission de la FRE est d’accélérer la recherche sur l’endométriose. Pour ce faire, elle soutient chaque année plusieurs projets de recherche innovants sur la compréhension et le traitement de la pathologie et diffuse régulièrement des contenus pédagogiques sur les dernières avancées de la recherche dans le domaine. Les valeurs de la FRE sont l’esprit d’innovation et de collaboration, l’indépendance et l’intégrité. La gouvernance repose sur un comité exécutif qui décide de la stratégie de la FRE, fait connaître ses buts et ses moyens. Dans sa mission scientifique, il est secondé par un comité international. La FRE souhaite placer les patientes au cœur de ses actions et de ses décisions, et promouvoir une approche de recherche participative. Dans cette finalité, un comité consultatif de patientes et d’aidants (CCPA) a été créé en septembre 2022. La FRE, sous l’égide de la FRM, a vocation à accroître son impact dans le domaine de la promotion et du soutien à la recherche, tant en termes de financement que d’expertise, pour soutenir les chercheurs.
