Study on the expression of Bim and p21 WAF1/CIP1 and their correlations in endometriosis

Objective To investigate the expression of Bim and p21 WAF1/CIP1 and their relationship in endometiosis. Methods The expression of Bim and p21WAF1/CIP1 was detected by immunhistochemical technique in 30 patients with endometriosis and 30 healthy women. Results The positive expression rates of Bim were 86.7%,60%,43.3% respectively in healthy women,in eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group;the positive expression rates of p21WAF1/CIP1 were 83.3%,56.7%,46.7% in healthy women,in eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group respectively. There was a close correlation between Bim and p21WAF1/CIP1 in endometriosis. Conclusion Bim and p21WAF1/CIP1may play an important role in the development of endometriosis,and Bim is positively related with p21WAF1/CIP1,so the two factors may have a synergistic effect.
