Abstract
The invention provides methods, assays and kits for the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis and endometriosis associated ovarian cancer. The invention is based on the detection of elevated levels of nerve growth factor (NGF) tropomyosin-related kinase receptor (tyrosine kinase receptors TrkA, Trkss and TrkC) expression in tissue samples and bodily fluids by determining protein levels or mRNA levels of Trk.
