The Clinicopathologic Analysis of 42 Patients with Ectopic Decidua in Gestation Period

Objective To study the clinicopathologic manifestations of ectopic decidua in gestation period.Method The clinical data of ectopic deciduas of 42 cases including normal and ectopic pregnancy were analyzed retrospectively.Results Ectopic deciduas were bright red nodules which could be seen in great epiploon,cervix and postfornix under light microscope,the ectopic decidual cells with rich cytoplasms were polygonal and inlaid arrangement,nucleus laid in the center of cells.Immunohistochemistry:ectopic decidual cell expressed Vimentin,EMA,PRL,ER and PR,but did not express CK,LCA,SMA,Desmin and Actin.Conclusions During gestation period,the ectopic decidua can happen in cervix,ovary,great epiploon,vagina and so on,which is easy to be misdiagnosed as tumor,immunohistochemistry can help to diagnose and differentiate.It is necessary to improve the recognition of ectopic decidua.
