Síndrome de congestión pélvica: Evaluación del dolor después del tratamiento laparoscópico con Ligasure®.
This study evaluated pelvic pain in women with pelvic congestion syndrome six months after laparoscopic ovarian vein ligation with Ligasure®, finding a significant reduction in pain intensity.

The paper evaluated pelvic pain outcomes after laparoscopic ligation of ovarian varicose veins using the Ligasure® technique in 29 women diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome at a clinic in Cali between June 2002 and June 2003. Using an unblinded, non-controlled clinical trial design, it measured pain intensity with a colored visual analog scale via surveys before surgery and 6 months post-procedure; 28 patients had pelvic varicocelectomy and one was noted to have endometriosis. After surgery, pain intensity decreased significantly, with most values falling below 6, and the before–after comparison showed a statistically significant reduction (chi-square 43.13, 4 df, p<0.05), though no patient reported a pain score of 0 at follow-up. The study’s main limitation is the lack of a control group (and thus attribution solely to the intervention). This paper is not centrally about endometriosis or adenomyosis; it reports a single patient with endometriosis discovered during pelvic congestion syndrome surgery, making its endo relevance incidental.
