Abstract
Objectives: To study the changes in capacity of releasing cytokine by peritoneal macrophages and its relation to cyclic nucleotides levels in the patients with endometriosis. Methods: Peritoneal macrophages were obtained from 14 patients with mild endometriosis (Endometriosis group) and 11 infertile women with other factors. Cytokines levels in peritoneal macrophages culture supernate were evaluated by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The cyclic nucleotides levels of were detected by immunoradiology. Results: The results showed that in endometriosis patients the number of peritoneal macrophages were higher than those in control group, the levels of TNF and IL 6 in peritoneal macrophages supernate were elevated significantly, as compared with those in the control group. The level of cGMP were elevated, the level of cAMP was decreased, the ratio of cAMP/cGMP was decreased in peritoneal macrophages of patients with endometriosis. Conclusion: It is concluded that changes of intracellular second messenger system may be involved in elevation of cytokine releasing activity of peritoneal macrophage in patients with endometriosis.
