Abstract

Shelled Pteropod Individual-Based Model (spIBM) spIBM is a set of Python classes and methods to simulate the mortality, growth, development and behaviour (diel vertical migration, spawning) of shelled pteropods individuals across different life-stages. The model uses the size as a key trait to determine the behaviour and movement of individuals. The movement is simulated using the Python package parcels v2.1.3 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.5196084) spIBM manuscript and code The manuscript detailing the first release of spIBM, has been published in Ecologial Modelling, and can be cited as: Hofmann Elizondo U. and M.
