External Validation of Endometriosis Fertility Index (EFI) in an Indonesian Population: A TwoCentre Prospective Study
This prospective study validated the Endometriosis Fertility Index (EFI) in Indonesian women, finding higher EFI scores significantly correlated with increased pregnancy rates.

This prospective two-center study externally validated the Endometriosis Fertility Index (EFI) in 59 reproductive-aged women diagnosed with endometriosis and infertility who underwent laparoscopic surgery in two Indonesian hospitals between 2012 and 2016, with follow-up for two years. Using statistical analyses, the study found that younger age, infertility duration of at least 3 years, higher LF score, and an AFS score below 71 were significantly associated with pregnancy, and pregnant participants had a higher median EFI score than non-pregnant participants (7 [5–9] vs 4 [1–8], p<0.001). The paper does not highlight specific limitations beyond the external validation scope and its sample context. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it externally validates the Endometriosis Fertility Index in an Indonesian cohort and evaluates associations between EFI components and subsequent pregnancy.
