Abstract

CONSERVATION of portions of the ovary during surgery is not a difficult procedure, and yet it is not practiced commonly by general surgeons. Gynecologists are well acquainted with the fact that a very small amount of ovarian tissue will protect the patient's future well-being. Surgeons of lesser training and experience in this specialty are more likely to remove ovaries, probably because of a lack of knowledge of pathology. With increased information on this score, surgeons will remove fewer ovaries in toto and will make every effort to save as much ovarian tissue as possible. This paper, therefore, is written to . . .
