Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the relationship of orphanin (OFQ) and reproductive hormone(FSH and LH) in the patients of infertility with endometriosis(EMT). Methods: 21 patients of EMT with infertility (infertility group), 23 infertile women without EMT (control group) and 30 health women(normal group) were studied. The concentrations of plasma OFQ and serum FSH and LH were measured by radioimmunoassay. Results: The levels of OFQ , FSH and LH in infertility group were (29.61±6.33)ng.L -1,(2.03±0.32)IU.L -1 and (6.43±1.89) IU.L -1 respectively, the levels of OFQ, FSH and LH in control group were (10.18±3.64)ng.L -1,(4.05±0 51)IU.L -1 and(15.05±4.26)IU.L -1 respectively, in normal group, the levels were (11.35±3.71)ng.L -1 , (3.82±0.46)IU.L -1 and(12.63±3.18)IU.L -1 respectively .The level of plasma OFQ in infertility and pregnancy group were significantly higher than that in the control group and normal group(P0.01), the levels of FSH and LH in infertility group decreased significantly when compared with the control group and normal group (P0.01 and P0.05). Conclusions: Infertility with endometriosis was associated with OFQ, the changes of OFQ levels may play an important role on infertility with endometriosis,it could effectively inhibit the secretion of FSH and LH.
