Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of ubiquitin(Ub) and progesterone receptor(PR) in the pathogenesis of endometriosis and the relationship between these two signals. Methods: The expression of Ub and PR in normal endometrium(26 cases),eutopic and ectopic endometrium of endometriosis(35 cases) were detected by immunohistological analysis. Results: Ub expressed cyclic changes in normal cases. The expression of Ub was higher and PR was lower in both eutopic and ectopic endometrim of endometriosis than that of controls(P0.05),especially in stromal cells. Conclusion: This study indicates that the increased expression of Ub and decreased expression of PR in eutopic and ectopic endometrium might play an important role in pathogenesis of endometriosis.Stromal cells may be contributed to the development of endometriosis.
