Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Stasis-Transforming Toxin-Resolving Formula( STTRF) for endometriosis( EMT). Methods Totally 58 cases of EMT were given STTRF one dose daily. The hot compress was given before bedtime for 30 min and cold compress was given at the same position for 3 hours. During the menstrual period cold compress was deactivated. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 3-month treatment. The dysmenorrhea score, pelvic pain score,TCM symptom score, ovarian endometrioid cyst size and serum CA125 level were compared before and after treatment. The adverse reactions were observed. Results The total effective rate was 82. 8%. The dysmenorrhea score and pelvic pain score were decreased after treatment( P 0. 01). The TCM symptom scores were significantly decreased after treatment except the menstrual flow score( P 0. 05). The ovarian endometrioid cyst size was significantly reduced after treatment( P 0. 05). The CA125 level was increased after treatment but with no significant difference between before and after treatment( P 0. 05). There was no obvious adverse reaction during treatment. Conclusion STTRF can relieve dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain and TCM symptoms with no adverse reaction.
