Abstract

Objective: To study the clinical effect on treating dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) in perimenopausal period by using Mifepristone after diagnositic curettage. Methods: 32 cases of DUB were treated with oral Mifepristone 10mg every day for three months running. The size of uterus, thickness of endometrium and level of hormone were observed. Results: During this period. all the patients had amenorrhea, 10 of which were direcdy in menopause period, and 22, recovered menstruation after stopping medication, 8 cases had infrequent menstruation; 5 had menopause 3 -15 months after stopping medication; l,because of recurrence 15 months after stopping medication,was performed endometrium ablation. Conclusion: Mifepristone is a safe and effective drug to treat DUB, with less side-effects.
