Abstract

The disclosure relates to 8beta-substituted estra-1,3,5(10)-triene derivatives of general formula (I), wherein the variables are as defined in the specification, their use as pharmaceutical active ingredients, which have in vitro a higher affinity to estrogen receptor preparations from rat prostates than to estrogen receptor preparations from rat uteri and in vivo a preferential action in the ovary in comparison to the uterus, their production, their therapeutic use and pharmaceutical dispensing forms that contain these compounds. These compounds are suitable for the treatment of estrogen-deficiency-induced diseases and conditions, such as peri- and postmenopausal symptoms, female infertility for therapy of hormone-deficiency-induced symptoms in ovarian dysfunction, for prophylaxis and therapy of inflammatory intestinal diseases, Crohn' s disease, inflammatory diseases of the skin, psoriasis, cardiovascular diseases, prostate- hyperplasia, prostate hyperplasia, diseases of the immune system, endometriosis for the treatment of cancer of the colon and small intestine and for the stimulation of hair growth.
