NTM-infected CF patients may be at risk of being underdiagnosed or inappropriately treated when relying on culture and susceptibility results from non-specialized laboratories. Since this was a small study with convenience samples, a larger study needs to be carried out. If our findings are confirmed, the drivers should be elucidated for the discrepant results.
