This preliminary study reported short-term local control of percutaneous image-guided cryoablation for localized symptomatic abdominal scar endometrioma in four consecutive patients with 10 lesions, using a single-session procedure under general anesthesia and assessing pain and MRI response. Mean preoperative pain was 7 on a visual analog scale, and post-procedure superficial edema resolved within 2 weeks for all patients. At 6 months, mean postoperative pain decreased to 1.7, and MRI showed a significant volume decrease in all patients (72.2–100%; p = 0.028), with no severe complications reported (CTCAE grade >2). The main limitation is the very small, short-term, noncomparative “initial reports” design. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — it specifically evaluates percutaneous cryoablation for symptomatic abdominal scar endometriomas.
