Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of mifepristone and goserelin after laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis (EM) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) effects. METHODS 95 patients were randomly divided into 3 groups: mifepristone group (34 patients after oral administration of mifepristone), goserelin group (32 patients with subcutaneous injection of goserelin) and the control group (29 cases with surgery after medication). We observed the recurrence of patients within 3 years, The VEGF in serum were detected before treatment, after 6 months and 1 year after treatment. RESULTS The 3-year recurrence rate of mifepristone group and goserelin group was significantly lower than the control group, and there was significance difference between the two groups (P ﹤ 0.05). After treatment with mifepristone goserelin, VEGF in serum decreased significantly compared with the control group (P﹤0.05). CONCLUSION EM patients with goserelin and mifepristone after laparoscopic or has a good effect on preventing relapse, and can significantly reduce VEGF expression in serum.
