ANA has the ability to track emotional changes and provide adaptive emotional support. By mapping emotions to 18 pre-defined internal characters with interactive 3D avatars, and creating tailored healing plans for users (which modify over time), ANA utilizes multimodal emotion-recognition in a collective representation. In addition, ANA features a virtual character called Guider to help facilitate a safe flow of communication and progress tracking, along with a comprehensive user interface for exploring emotions. Validation of the system has been accomplished through experimental results show high levels of unimodal emotion recognition (88-93% accuracy) with multiple methods used to detect emotional states. The accuracy of multimodal fusion is 95%, while the confidence of character identification is 99.6%.
