Abstract
Objective: To establish the implanted animal model of human endometriosis by eutopic endometrium. Methods: The 32 NOD/SCID mice were randomly divided into two groups. The eutopic and ectopic endometrium were implanted subcutaneously in the abdomen of NOD/SCID mice, respectively. The implant was saved for pathology examination at 8th weeks. Results: All of 32 mice survived. Successfully subcutaneous implantation of eutopic endometrium was observed in 15 of 16(93.75%) NOD/SCID mice with haematoxylin-eosin staining of implanting lesions demonstrated the presence of endometrial glandular tissue in a background of stromal cells. The glandular epithelium exhibited cytokeratin and ki-67 staining. The stroma cells exhibited vimentin staining. But only fibre could be observed in the implant of ectopic endometrium. Conclusions: The establishment of animal model of endometriosis with human eutopic endometrium in NOD/SCID mouse is successful, stable, and patent.
