Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the CT potential of differentiation of leiomyomasand adenomyosis. All cases of 31 patients were proved by surgery and pathology. The accuracy of diagnosisbefore surgery was respectively 86% and 80% to leiomyomas and adnomyosis. Leiomyoma showed well-circumscribed masses but adenomyosis showed obscure margin with visible high density spots or stain area inwall of uterus after contrast. The authors concluded that CT is highly accurate in helping to distinguish between leiomyoma and adenomyosis.
