Observation on the efficacy of triptorelin treatment for endometriotic cyst with laparoscopic surgery

Abstract

Aim To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist(GnRH-a) treatment of endometrio-sis.Methods The clinical symptoms and signs change and GnRH-a side effects were compared between surgical treatment group(A group) and surgery combined with GnRH-a treatment group(B) after treatment.Results 15 cases were effective(the effective rate was 44.12%),5 cases were symptomatic improvement(the improvement rate was 14.71%),14 cases were found pelvic mass again after 5 months(the recurrence rate was 41.18%) of all the 34 patients in A group;40 cases were effective(the effective rate was 81.36%),9 cases were found pelvic mass again after 8 months(the recurrence rate of 18.37%),but the mass was smaller than the preoperative di-ameter of all the 49 cases in B group.Conclusion Surgery combined GnRH-a treatment of endometriosis is safe and effective,but can occur hot flashes,sweating,irregular vaginal bleeding and other symptoms of low estrogen.
