Abstract
This study unveils the discovery of inter-specific roosts within the tribe Dacini of familyTephritidae (Diptera) fruit flies fromAsia, involving six species of Bactrocera Macquart. In addition, we also suggest a new parameter for inter-specific communication and discuss the possibility of interspecific communication among insects. We also indicate the possibility of roles of allelochemicals in establishing phylogenetic relationships. This finding advances bio-rational management techniques and offers a promising pathway for the effective control of true fruit fly pests.
