Abstract

The present study examined the effectiveness of a sex therapy application for couples struggling with sexual desire discrepancy. Participants (n = 30) completed eight weeks of the intervention consisting of psychoeducation, sensate focus, and communication exercises with their partner. The results showed that after eight weeks, participants reported being more sexually satisfied and their sexual functioning had improved. They also reported greater physical connection and communication about sex. Adding to the emerging literature on online interventions for sex therapy, the results show that providing sex therapy in an application format can be an effective treatment for at least some couples.
