Abstract

Endometriosis is an estrogen-depending gynecologicalpathology, (characterized by the growth of endometrial tissueoutside the uterine cavity). It is estimated that 5 to 10 % offemale population have the patology.The case of a 30 years old woman is reported with fertilityexpectations, before the study of case, she presented a currentcondition with a year of development, characterized bydysmenorrhea with concomitant hypermenorrhoea. She wasdiagnosed with ovarian endometrioma through a laparoscopyfollowed by a histological study of the lesion. While theintervention, the endometrioma is drained, an oophorectomyand a right salpingectomy are performed.Then, she is treated with agonists analogous of the gonadotropinreleasing hormone(GnRH), and 8 months after having finishedthe treatment the patient was in state of pregnancy. 7 yearspassed from the first intervention performed, the patientpresents again endometrioma in the left ovary. The cyst isdrained and the oophorectomy is performed. Now, the patient istreated with agonists analogous of the GnRH and progestogencontraceptives orally. Currently asymptomatic.
