EVALUATION OF CELLULAR IMMUNE RESPONSE IN WOMEN WITH EXTERNAL-GENITAL ENDOMETRIOSIS

article OA: green CC0

Abstract

Endometriosis is a “mysterious” disease, and its exact cause is still unknown. Etiological factors include congenital, environmental, epigenetic, autoimmune and allergic factors. It is believed that the primary mechanism for the formation of endometriosis lesions is retrograde menstruation, i.e., the passage of menstrual blood through the fallopian tubes into the abdominal cavity and the implantation of exfoliated endometrial cells.
