Influnce of Fibroids in Ultrasonic Evaluation on the Diagnosis of Adenomysis

Objective We assessed whether fibroids alter specific sonographic characteristics in the diagnosis of adenomysis. Methods Eighty-three Patients with the adenomyosis were evaluated and compared with the pathological results. Results Some characteristics were observed. Forty-eijht specimens contained adenomyosis, thirty-five specimens contained fibroids. The coincidence rate of ultrasonogry in diagnosing adenomyosis and adenomyosis contained fibroids was 91.6% and 71.4%.Conclusion Fibroids limit the ability to diagnose the adenomyosis.
