Abstract
Objective To evaluate the curative effect of the treatment about uterine arterial embolization(UAE) with Pingyangmycin-lipiodol emulsion(PLE) on adenomyosis. Methods There were 23 cases of patients who suffered with adenomysis diagnosed by B untrasound,CT or MRI.Mono-or bilateral uterine arterial embolization were undergone to these patients according to uterine arteriography. The embolus was PLE,and the methods of embolization used was super-low pressure intermittent injection. The average dosages of pingyangmycin was(8.5±3.1) mg;the average dosages of lipiodol was(5.5±2.0) ml;the ratio of lipiodol to nonion contrast agent was 1:1.The change of dysmenorrhoea,menorrhagia,CA-125 and uterine volume were followed. Results Twenty-four times of UAE were done to 23 patinets. The success rate of uterine artery catherization was 100%.Twenty-one patients had the good PLE deposit in the focus. The complete relieve rate about dysmenorrhoea was 89.5%(17/19).When to menorrhagia,it was 85.7%(12/14).The preopration average HGB was(101.9±25.0) g/L;the postoperation was(119.0±13.1) g/L;the preoperation average CA-125 was(192.2±112.9) U/ml;the postoperation was(83.8±60.8) U/ml; the preoperation average uterine volume checked by B untrasound was(380.2±195.2) cm3;the postembolization was(184.3±73.9) cm3.There were significant differences on statistics about the pre-and postoperation average HGB,CA-125 and uterine volume(P0.01).No complications which reduced by UAE occurred. Conclusion Using PLE as embolus, the related symptom of adenomysis can be controlled or relieved through UAE.The uterine volume can also be decreased. This kind of treatment has the feature of less trauma and safety. It also can get the good curative effect.
