Abstract

Even though a Leadership for the Common Good (LCG) was theorized in 1992 by Crosby and Bryson, in this study is discussed and approach the foundations of LCG in view of a new theory, dynamics of the common good. In this cross-sectional study, the methodology included a validated and reliable scale of LCG applied to undergraduate students from Technological University of Querétaro (UTEQ) in Mexico. Participants (N=1569, Age=20.9 SD±2.2) self-assessment was registered considering eleven dimensions of the LCG scale. Outcomes about LGC were positive, however these indicated a lack of consistency between idealistic in comparison with realistic items regarding parallel subjects of the scale. Particularly, there were less-positive scores in relation with participation and social involvement of this population with the community. As long of COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled and a return to in presence classes is imminent, there is an urgent need to promote a more active and community-oriented LCG.
