Abstract

In this paper algorithm oriented gradient is implemented on human face recognition under different lighting conditions. Many researchers gave good results by compensating of low frequency illumination, or capturing of high frequency edges. A simple but effective method namely oriented gradient feature method is implemented. The feature image gradient gives magnitude and direction information in an image. Magnitude and direction information of an image is further used for histogram plot with orientation bins. The recognition rate accuracy has been improved when proposed algorithm for compensation of light is used.
