Car-Car Analogy on Neural Network Science
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
We present a commonly used conceptual tool which is the "car analogy" to integrate many of the neural network science concepts. The purpose of this article is to show that using this car-car analogy allows us to have a unified framework for the entire discipline. We use this understanding framework to present the phenomena of "emergence" and "self-organization" in complex systems approaches toward neural network science. Meanwhile, we point out the reasons why the nervous system cannot be fully described from the network structure alone, and provide a potential candidate for a well-understood framework. The mathematical description is also discussed as a supplementary material.
